The Challenge
The challenge was to re-locate a customer’s existing fabrication facility to larger premises, increasing the footprint by 50%, incorporating an office and meeting room. The project needed to be completed in 12 weeks, to a strict budget, whilst ensuring that there was minimum impact to day-to-day business.
The Solution
By utilising a Project Delivery System based on PRINCE2 methodology and a gateway audit process, I ensured that each stage of the project was met. I also kept the customer and other stakeholders updated by holding weekly project reviews, which kept delays to a minimum when obtaining sign off at each gateway.
The Results
Successful demobilisation of the old facility and integration into the new one, completed without impact on the day-to-day business. An office structure was built within the facility footprint with space for 4 people as well as a meeting room seating 6. Everything was delivered on time and on budget.
